Pico De Loro (new trail)

There were probably those moments when both Joyce and I went online and saw each other's Facebook albums of our travel. While I have a thing for traveling solo and exploring off the beaten paths, she did things differently. I always knew she can handle anything for we both passed MOCC training in high school, but I was still surprised of what she has become: a hardcore mountaineer. One day, we began talking about mountaineering and traveling in general, and she told me she wanted to do a birthday climb with me. Yes, February born is another thing in common. And I ranted about people assuming I have climbed Pico De Loro before since I live in Cavite. So there, that's how we came up with the Pico De Loro birthday climb. From only 2, we became 16.

It was a day of many firsts. It was Joyce's first climb event that she organized and her first birthday climb. It was also my first birthday climb and first time in Pico, which I shared with my good friends, Jolo, Shiela and Mark, who had Pico as their first not-major-but-official hike. (Congrats, guys!) And then for all of us, it was our first time in the new trail, which was just opened 2 days before our climb.

We only did a day hike because it was a Sunday. I'm glad I created this event and Joyce gave in to my boredom. LOL While trekking, Joyce and I realized we haven't seen each other for more than 5 years. We've reunited in Pico with 14 more crazies. Hahahaha.

It was nice meeting all of you guys. Thank you for trusting us. Looking forward to more adventures in the future. Happy birthday to us again, Joyce and Sir Jayzee.
