Description

When you’re near you feel far away
My thoughts touch yours not
Not like days gone
Unspoken words you used to say
Why can it not go back that way?
The horses nay, the priests, they pray
Yet here you are, near, but far away

Far, far from the trouble and nuisance of me
I am the pox, the curse, the plague upon thee
At least that’s how it would appear,
Down the wrong street you tend to steer,

Can love and learn mix?
Or does school and solitude rule the roost,
Kind gesture, a hug, a kiss, a confidence boost

The pen of truth is out now
Line, dot, shade, and write,

Will not bow to you, not bow to me,
Whose life is filled with misery?
Not mine, not yours…surely?
Not yours?
How can I tell?
A penny cast into the well
That time we came out of our shells
The lies that drew, the truth erased
By this you will be much amazed,

The pen of truth is out now
The writings on the wall
Yet still you stand, quite near to me,
So far away, you cannot view
The love I bare, my love for you
