Omid Chaman Biography Video

Omid Chaman is a New York business owner with more than 20 years of experience in building, managing, and developing a business up from the ground. Currently, his major focus of work is the Chaman Antique Rug Gallery, which features over 30 years of experience in the antiquing field in addition to Certified Rug Appraisers on staff.
Chaman’s career has had many twists and turns over the course of his life, and he has been proud to deal with every shift with characteristic charm and confidence.
He has long been driven by his passions and has quickly pursued what interests him. In 1993 he entered St. John’s University, where he pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Toxicology. His fascination with the intricacies of toxins and materials of ill effect continues to be a strong interest of his. He continued on with St. John’s and earned a Master’s degree in the subject. Though not directly related to his current work, Omid learned a great deal about being self-driven, goal-oriented, and the importance of having an eye for detail.
In 1999, Omid Chaman took over the family business, Chaman Antique Rug Gallery. The Gallery has been open since 1981 and has provided New York with access to some of the most confident and experienced experts in the appraisal of antique pieces from all over the world, including himself and Daryoosh Chaman. He has developed comfort and ease with the industry that only comes from experience and talent.
Additionally, Omid Chaman recently received certification as a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson. He earned this certification in June of 2020, and he specializes in the area of Great Neck, where he lives with his family.
As a father, he places a high value on quality time alongside his family, and he is very happy to be managing a business which gives him that time. Though he puts much of his effort towards giving the best life possible to the Chaman family as a whole, he knows how important it is to balance work and play. His hobbies include fine art appreciation and sports cars.
