SOULDIA SOUND
(This “Voice of the refugees” stands for anyone who believes in true values, fair ideals and unity of people.)
SoulDia was born in the South of Senegal (Casamance) and was raised in the Netherlands. After being well-known and successful with his band “BlackLions”, he decided in 2003 to promote African music throughout Holland with his PalmTree Productions label. SoulDia diff used African music vibrations through many concerts, presented a weekly programshow at Boschtion FM radio with the support of Leo Vos, and he also organized low-threshold festivals in the Netherlands and Belgium. This including “Luisteren met de buren” in Paradox, Tilburg, African Nights Den Bosch, “Social Living festival” (Luik, Belgium) and “Gluren bij de buren” in the Slinger in Den Bosch (in collaboration with Festival Mundial “On the Road” in 2010). SoulDia’s musical
infl uences came from far abroad and of course authentic Africa. For this album, SoulDia has been collaborating with three Topline producers from the US and the UK: • Tempo Stokes (winner of the ASCAP music award) • Tony B from Nashville • Lydian Stream from UK (Team of producers) SoulDia now goes on tour with TWO ROOTS BAND, the fi rst half of the band memebers from Suriname and the other half from The Netherlands.
