oEvacuate

oEvacuate is Quantum GIS 1.8 plugin that computes and draws the (shortest) path between two given points of a map, while (trying to) avoid a set of user defined dangerous points: just think of points in a map where natural disaster occured (fire, flood, earthquake damage) and you need to avoid these points so as to drive citizens from a certain start point to a safety point.

Furthermore it provides information regarding the calculated path's distance (in km) and time. Functionality includes: multiple tools of selecting points to avoid (radius, rectangulator, point-by-point), path thickness and color, multiple paths calculation and drawing, configuration of geospatial system, setting an underlying google map, connecting to PostGIS databases and more. I've developed this plugin in between Feb-May 2013 as a means to train voluntary members of Civil Protection units as well as to add to the toolbox of researchers.
