Description
I have come back
To remember the lilt
That once crooned
To beckon that
The carousel will never sojourn
As long as you keep
Your two cents safe
But now, remembering
Is all that is left
Like this bony moon
Shinning past the drizzle
I no longer wish for amends,
No loath nor regret
I only heed for peace
So I can go back to a sleep
Without the haunts
Of the breaking dawn
That will unfurl
The passing of time
Like the crowfeet in my eyes
I plead for slumber
As I juggle thoughts and emotions
Sharper than a knife
And wake up groping
For your amiable warmth
And in this sleeplessness
I know that I have
Already forgiven everyone
Save my iron-defiance
Like a senile photograph
We shall live on, carry on
Haunted by warmth
And the taste of tarnishing
But all is not lost
For I will give you back
Your sedate parasol
And the rain will no longer
Slather you with cold,
I will hand you back
Your bliss unfettered
From any other qualms
But your very own,
Whilst to you I apologize
But understand my place
Is but an isthmus between
The two of you,
And I will hold unto
This lacquered photograph
And purged reveries.
