A long time ago
All I wanted was to write something beautiful for you
But I could never find the words
Words were the slippery parts in conversation
The beginnings and ends because once we get started
You can never shut us up
Then, as soon as I could really relate to you
We had to be torn apart
And this may very well be
The biggest mistake ive ever made in my entire life
But I dont love you anymore
I just cant love you anymore
A long time ago...
Or maybe it wasn't so long
I thought about US differently, so differently
Than how I picture us today
Im sorry for what I've done
I regret the chances I had to speak up when it mattered
And I never did
You gave me every right, but neither of us could speak.
Neither of us were that different on the inside
Or were we?
How much have we really changed from who we were?
I can tell you, I've grown up since the feelings of yesteryear
I can tell you, I've learned so much from the mistakes of yesteryear
But I can tell you whatever I want to
Even if it isn't always true
I could even dare to tell you
That I will always love you
