New Treatment For Peanut Allergy

Description

New research has procured a wearable patch for people with peanut allergies. The patch, developed by DBV Technologies, uses epicutaneous immunotherapy, which allows patients to build up somewhat of a tolerance to peanuts. The patch does this by delivering small amounts of peanut protein through the skin. The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology published the results of the trial. The study’s participants had a 46 to 48 percent success rate compared to the 12 percent of the placebo.
