Nepal journalists demand equal rights and recognisation for Madhesis
Description
Nepal, May 25 (ANI): A group of senior journalists from Nepal, who are on a visit to New Delhi, has asked the Nepal government to provide equal rights and recognition to minorities in the country including Madhesis. The Madhesi community has been agitating for the past six months demanding recognition. They want an amendment in the Constitution that will guarantee them equality. The agitation reached capital Kathmandu after the government failed to address their demands. Nepal has been suffering severe economic losses with the ongoing instability in the country. The number of foreign tourists has decreased and black marketing of essential commodities has impacted the common people.
