Murray "startled," paramedic says
Description
The manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson's doctor, Conrad Murray continued on its fourth day with paramedic Richard Senneff still on the stand.
He was part of the medical team called to the scene at Jackson's home.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) DEBORAH BRAZIL, PROSECUTOR, SAYING:
"Would you characterize your impression of the look on Dr. Murray's face when you returned to the room?"
(SOUNDBITE) (English) RICHARD SENNEFF, PARAMEDIC, SAYING:
"He was surprised to see me."
(SOUNDBITE) (English) DEBORAH BRAZIL, PROSECUTOR, SAYING:
"Why do you say that? Was it by the look on his face, or..."
(SOUNDBITE) (English) RICHARD SENNEFF, PARAMEDIC, SAYING:
"By the look on his face. He turned his head. He was partially bent over. He turned his head sideways to look at me, and just, just blank look right off the bat, just, surprised...I had the impression he was surprised someone just walked in the room."
(SOUNDBITE) (English) DEBORAH BRAZIL, PROSECUTOR, SAYING:
"Did you characterise that as a 'deer in the headlight' look?'"
(SOUNDBITE) (English) RICHARD SENNEFF, PARAMEDIC, SAYING:
"I have characterised it that way."
(SOUNDBITE) (English) DEBORAH BRAZIL, PROSECUTOR, SAYING:
"And you have previously testified to the jury that when you saw Dr. Murray in that location by the nightstand area by the bed, he also had a trash bag in his hand. Correct?"
(SOUNDBITE) (English) RICHARD SENNEFF, PARAMEDIC, SAYING:
"That's correct."
Prosecutors seek to prove Murray was negligent in his care of the late singer and covered up Jackson's use of the anesthetic propofol.
Murray has admitted giving Jackson the drug but denies involuntary manslaughter.
The trial is expected to last four to six weeks, if convicted Murray could face up to four years in prison.
