The door opens and I walk through again
Just like every other day, with your hands on my shoulder
dragging me through and throwing me out.
I call you on the way to school whilst I suffer through every mistreated rule,
and I whisper 'There's no getting out alive'

The hinges are broken but we still come and go
Just like every other day, with no boots, tred snow
with frost bitten toes screaming 'It could be worse, Oh it could be so much worse'

The paint's chipped off but it still looks like home
Just like every other day, you can't tell that I feel so alone
talking to myself in mirrors and waiting for a reply
as I whisper 'Why won't you lie, why won't you lie'

The windows broken open but it still feels warm
Just like every other day, there's a puddle from the storm
and I didn't want to tell you this
but 'I don't think it really exists, this life I resist'

And the handle won't turn no more, no more
Just like every other day, no more
and I spoke so softly into the phone, 'no more'
and I spoke so softly and so alone, 'no more'
