Moth Harris - Changed My Life So It Seems

It takes a lot of thought to see that the person who we are
Is so far away from the person who we used to be
Your opinions can all be the same
You can still feel alone or misunderstood
But I'm nothing like the person I used to be

It's like when the wind blows
It's so random but always carries through
It's like a feeling, accomplishment with growth
Or a promise to never think that way again

The freedom of not being caught up in the past
Knowing that it's a lie 'Good things never last'
Maybe sometimes I still feel alone
but I think it's just because my thoughts are my own
but I know I have a family now

Sometimes I feel misunderstood
Like I should have done something different
To show you how much I care
Or that I'll always be there
But I hoped you just see it in my eyes

Even though I feel alone
I still feel you by my side
Even though I'm misunderstood
I love making it up to you
Just know that I have grown

And It's funny because I used to think a poem
Had to sound just right, had to rhyme
had to flow, but all it really is
is sending a message through words
Whether abstract or through other accords.
