Jee-hyun, this heat is really showing no mercy
Good morning. Scorching heat lingered through the night and we are waking up after a super tropical night in Seoul, with a low of 30 degrees Celsius for the first time ever... and it's forecast to be another very hot day.
Seoul saw record breaking temperatures yesterday and we might break that record again today with an expected high of 39 degrees. It's very likely today's temperature will be within top 3 highest rankings.
Heatwave alerts remain in place, and southern provinces will see even hotter weather today.
Seoul starts the day at 30 degrees, and the rest of the country is waking up to a warm morning.
It's best if you avoid outdoor activities, highs in Seoul and Chuncheon will be at 39, even Busan will get up to 35 degrees.
Temperatures in Seoul will remain unbearably hot for a while, next week we might get to breathe a little better.
That's Korea for you and here's the international weather for viewers around the world.
