Description

From the roof
of the pavilion I’m taking
off

somewhat sadly
gliding

a sailplane coming loose
singing above the dawning soft
shoulders of the
city

clinging banks
swinging schools

buses
with comic-strip characters
along the home
ground streets of
a distended wet-nurse

no heaven
above your bed
female city but
burning in your
gutter a voluptuous
sun

your men
collect valuable art
out of bins
after the fancy-dress
party of the
night
