After spending a year in that role, Michael Bates continued to work in DC in various business-related roles. He worked as a Client Services Specialist, Senior Account Executive of State & Local Sales, and a Dedicated Advisor for the National Journal Group. These roles gave Michael experiences in client communications, sales, and account management. While he continued to take on roles of increasing responsibility, Michael became a leader and manager. He worked to oversee accounts, initiate growth, and facilitate interdepartmental communication that ultimately improved the business and client experience.

In 2016, Michael Bates decided to make a career change and became a Real Estate Agent in Washington, DC. He worked hard to become an agent and learn about the real estate industry. He spent a little over a year working as Real Estate Agent for Capital Park Reality before taking on a leadership role at a different company. Michael Bates became a Team Lead at another company within a short amount of time. There, he continued to learn and grow to a point where he knew he had the knowledge, experience, and skills to branch out on his own.

Michael Bates began his own company in DC called Rising Tide Rentals, LLC at the start of 2018. This company works to assist people with real estate rental property management. Michael is the Manager and Owner of the business and utilizes the skills he has learned before working in real estate to oversee the business. Aside from running this company, Michael also works as a Real Estate Agent for Real Living | At Home.
