Description

Do you know what micelles are? Well, micelles are small aggregates of particles behaving as colloidal particles. Now, how are these micelles formed? In this video, you will learn about how micelles are formed? When soap is dissolved in water, the soap molecules form micelles. The soap molecule consists of a water-loving, hydrophilic end and a water-hating, hydrophobic end. When interacting with water, the soap molecules align in such a manner that all the hydrophobic ends are towards the centre and away from the water while the hydrophilic ends is towards the periphery. This structure is called a micelle. After viewing this video you will get the clear understanding of the micelle formation.
