If not properly sealed and maintained, and too much time passes between applications, the soil can actually wear through the finish in the clay, increasing the cost of labor and can eventually ruining the ground. If regular maintenance has not been performed, it usually results in a full strip, which is a more thorough process. The entire strip is dust free.
The grout can also be color sealed to ensure a proper uniform appearance throughout the floor. Most Mexican tile installations require maintenance every year for up to two years, perhaps sooner depending on foot traffic in the home. By properly maintaining floors, it will also prevent scuffs and heavy traffic areas from wearing down to finish. We also recommend that any furniture that moves on the floor have felt pads applied to the furniture legs.
