Mehreen Mujeeb - Brain Dead

The heart rains blood
Through the body it floods
It transports meaning to life
It diffuses feeling to our human.

The brain dictates
Nerves electrocute reason
We walk through life
Robot dancing.

As clocks ticked by
The heart and brain grew apart
Criticised for their beauty
Denying their perfect love.

It is with the heart we feel
But it is the mind
Which recites poetry.
