Meet Tyler Slyter

Tyler Slyter is a food manufacturing professional based in Burley, Idaho. With over 20 years of progressive management experience, Tyler has become a leader in the field food manufacturing sector. He is particularly skilled at cost reduction, process improvement, and system development. Tyler also has significant experience in production management, project management, customer account management, research and development, and food safety.
Tyler Slyter attended the Oregon Institute of Technology, earning a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He also holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix, and is certified through the Juran Institute as a 6-Sigma Green Belt.
Currently, Tyler Slyter works as the Production Manager at McCain Foods. He previously served McCain foods as the Regional Technical Services Manager. In that position, Tyler participated in focused improvement teams focused on cost reductions and performance improvement. He also monitored and drove factory performance, implemented best practices in manufacturing, and supported the interfaces between manufacturing and other business units.
Before joining McCain Foods, Tyler Slyter played a leading role in several other food manufacturing companies. Tyler always strives for excellence in every aspect of his work, and has a proven track record of improving efficiencies at his companies. For example, Tyler successfully utilized and implemented the 6-Sigma process at JR Simplot Co., subsequently saving the company hundreds of thousands of dollars. Throughout his career, Tyler has often worked across departments to improve processes and solve complex problems. He has also traveled extensively to train employees on manufacturing best practices, troubleshooting, and systems development.
In his spare time, Tyler Slyter enjoys reading business news, especially about how companies have been successful in implementing change, improving efficiency, and adapting to growth.
Tyler Slyter has had the opportunity to travel through North America and the world. Some of this travel experience has been for work, but he has also traveled extensively for pleasure. He enjoys finding new places to explore and often spends significant time researching and planning for his next adventure. Tyler also enjoys boating, camping, and riding around on his new side by side utility vehicle.
