He has gained many skills through his extensive experience running businesses along with his other prior experience. Tiroune is a customer-focused founder and professional who has expertise in leadership and team development.

At the start of his career, Tiroune Raburt Oates was interested in learning about how the US government runs in Washington, DC. While he was taking classes on Philosophy in college he decided to apply for an internship with the US House of Representatives. He worked as an intern for the Office Of Congressman James Moran. Some of Tiroune’s responsibilities included taking notes for the senior staff not present at meetings held by the Congressman in the Congressman’s district office and working closely with foreign affairs staff. The next year, Tiroune began working as a Congressional Intern for U.S. Senator Tim Kaine. In this position, he conducted extensive research on foreign affairs for the senator and trained new interns on standard procedures of the office.

Another important part of Tiroune’s role was giving tours of the U.S. Capitol for various groups. This aspect of his job led him to begin his first business. Tiroune Raburt Oates created a mobile app that provides in-depth virtual reality tours of historical landmarks. The app, MyCapApp, was focused on giving students and teachers a way to build customized content that provided an enhanced tour experience.

Tiroune worked as the Founder and CEO of MyCapApp and continued to develop it, as well as a team, that improved the concept and functionality of the app. Eventually, the marketing campaigns that Tiroune spearheaded, along with other strategic business decisions, helped grow the company to have customers in 11 states. The success of MyCapApp and all of Tiroune’s efforts led to an acquisition of the company. In 2018, MyCapApp was acquired for $2.5 million.

Since the acquisition, Tiroune has continued to work on his tech-focused entrepreneurial career path and has been able to start another company in 2019. Tiroune Rapurt Oates founded NextGen Resist, which provides wearable technology focused on self-defense.
