Meet Stacy Hampel

Stacy Hampel is an expert corporate attorney with more than 14 years of experience in legal department management.

Her educational background includes a dual major in business administration and economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Kenan-Flagler Business School, where she graduated in 1999. her Juris Doctor comes from the Fordham University School of Law in New York, New York. Her graduation in 2006 came with Cum Laude honors and included the Muldering Scholar full merit scholarship.

Stacy Hampel's first career track was focused on the financial market. She began her professional career in 2000, when she joined with Blackbird Holdings, Inc. she served as a Sales and Marketing Representative. The next year she found work with the Wachovia bank, where she managed a number of details relating to inter-dealer and interbank business. Her last position in the business-side of finance was as an Interest Rate Derivatives Broker with Fimat USA.

In the Summer of 2004, Stacy Hampel joined the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Division of Enforcement as a Summer Associate. This launched her legal career alongside her entrance into Fordham. When the summer ended, she joined the International Swaps and Derivatives Association as a legal intern. The hard work in this role prepared her for her next step in the legal field as a Law Clerk with McKee Nelson, which she joined in 2005. Here she built a foundation of experience in the legal field, representing issuers, underwriters, and collateral managers in a variety of contexts. She spent two years with McKee Nelson before finding another opportunity with IHS Markit, also known as MarkitSERV. Here she served as Secretary of the Board of Directors as well as Head of the MarkitSERV Legal department. She worked with MarkitSERV for six years.

Stacy's most recent role is with Volvo Financial Services. She found a position as Senior Counsel with the company in 2015. She worked directly with the General Counsel on legal and compliance matters relating to capital markets activities, credit underwriting, IT sourcing, compliance initiatives, and operational issues in the local markets. Stacy Hampel's success in this position pushed her upwards into the Global Headquarters, where she now serves the company as Vice President Legal and Senior Counsel.
