Description

Richard Carr is an experienced professional from Bournemouth, England, with over 30 years of experience in the property development field. His experience lies mostly in the industry’s leisure and hospitality sector, and he currently works as the Chief Executive at Fortitudo Property.

In his role as Chief Executive, Richard Carr uses his innovative sense of design and his eye for detail in each project he takes on, maximising the potential of each piece of land he works on. He gets his inspiration in his work from the complex problems he comes across while working, letting him develop real estate opportunities in innovative and creative ways. Each opportunity is progressive, exciting, and brings a lot of potential to the existing area.

Richard Carr and his team focus on three distinct areas: designing property, gaining planning, and regenerating existing commercial assets to restore their viability. Richard and his team guild their clients through the entire process, ensuring that they know exactly what is going on during the project. Fortitudo Property also offers low-income housing and bespoke property design to clients wanting to get into residential real estate.

Prior to his work with Fortitudo Property, Richard Carr got his experience as an entrepreneur within the leisure and hospitality industry. He first started in the industry in 1981 when he founded his first entity, Richard Carr Property, at 21. From there, he bought an unused warehouse in Bournemouth and, after gaining planning permission, sold it to a developer to be used as residential housing. This was his first success in the industry. His model was effective and his eye for finding promising properties was uncanny, letting him do this several times to add skills to his set and value to his profile.

After Richard Carr Property, Richard built Allied Restaurants—an umbrella which oversaw business from Poole, Dorset, to Oxford Street in London. He sold Allied Restaurants to Grand Metropolitain in 1990, then conceptualised the Megabowl 10-Pin Bowling as well as bars and nightclubs, making him a pioneer in the leisure industry. He spent the first twenty years of his career operating within the leisure and hospitality industry before refocusing himself on property development. This led him to founding Ravine Lifestyle, and from there he began growing the business into a well-recognized name.

Some of Richard Carr’s most noteworthy property developments include The Cadogan Hotel and The Walkabout Buildings in Bournemouth as well as The Mariner Building, Hennings Wharf, Dolphin Quays, and Port St. James—all in Poole. He’s recognised as one of the most innovative and creative leaders in the property development industry and has been awarded many accolades for his achievements and successes.
