Luis Roldan Telemundo

A loving father of two young boys and a successful businessman in the broadcasting industry, Luis Roldan is a New York native living in Miami, Florida. Luis was born in Havana, Cuba and moved to New York City at a young age, being raised in the city and attending college in the Bronx at Fordham University, Gabelli School of Business in 1982. Gaining a B.S. in Marketing, Luis Roldan quickly earned himself a position as an account executive at the Telemundo Network, where he held his role until 1988. In the role, Luis was responsible for selling advertising time on the network, spot, and local levels. When he left the role, he joined WNBC-TV/New York as an account executive between the years of 1988 and 1991, achieving over $21 million in billings for the station as well as selling a platinum sponsorship of the Barcelona games.

At the same time that Luis Roldan acted as an account executive at WNBC-TV, he has also earned himself the vice president and station manager role at Telemundo New York/WNJU-TV. Luis held this role for 8 years and used that time to build his management skills before getting promoted to the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the station. Though Luis only held the role for 2 years, during his time he was able to successfully launch the 11 pm news as well as help the station earn 2 Emmy nominations for outstanding single newscast.

In 1998, Luis Roldan was offered a position he couldn’t pass up. He began acting as the President and General Manager of Telemundo PR/WKAQ-TV. Luis achieved historic revenue and OCF during his time in the position as well as overseeing 16 weekly local productions that included talk shows, variety shows, sitcoms, and news. Luis held this position until 2006, and from 2006 to 2018 he jumped between various roles before eventually landing himself his current role as President and General Manager of Telemundo Orlando/WTMO-TV. Since earning this role, Luis has been able to exceed OCF & revenue targets as well as launching midday and weekend news as well as helicopter and skycam coverage. On top of that, Luis has also achieved the #2 marketing position in late-night news as well as acquiring the rights to the 2018 Gubernatorial Debate. Though Luis has only been in the role for 2 years, he’s gotten a lot done and doesn’t show any sign of stopping.

Outside of his successful career, Luis Roldan enjoys being involved in his 2 young son’s lives, specifically by getting involved with their school and the sports they play. Luis is also a former Trustee of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
