Meet Dr. Rob Elkington

Dr. Rob Elkington is an experienced business professional who is an expert in leadership. He believes that continued education and learning is the key to success. As an African living in North America, he has been forged by Ubuntu’s worldview - he’s a person by virtue of other persons. Since the start of his career, Dr. Elkington has shared his leadership knowledge through his own business, as a professor, and by giving presentations. He also has a wide range of published works that include journals and books.

Before becoming a leadership expert, Dr. Rob Elkington attended college at the University of South Africa, where he studied theology. Dr. Elkington had a strong interest in the subject and eventually received a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in theology. During and after his schooling, he began gaining more knowledge of leadership styles and strategies. In 2003, Dr. Rob Elkington founded his company called Global Partnership Consulting. The business offered leadership development and coaching, leadership seminars, and helped companies to develop and execute corporate social responsibility plans. For more than 11 years, Dr. Elkington worked as the CEO of the company.

In 2011, Dr. Rob Elkington had completed a Ph.D. at Northwest University in South Africa, which helped provide him with a more in-depth knowledge base on leadership. He soon began working as a professor, which he still does today. Throughout this time, Dr. Elkington has worked on various projects and has continued to become certified in multiple leadership areas. Dr. Elkington has recently completed a certification in Strategic Management and Strategy Formulation at the Copenhagen Business School.

Currently, Dr. Rob Elkington teaches courses on Critical Thinking and Ethics, Collaborative Leadership, Leadership Negotiation and Teamwork, Entrepreneurial Leadership, and Ethical Leadership. Aside from teaching, Dr. Elkington regularly gives seminars, training, and presentations on leadership to different groups. He provides Leadership Development workshops for Durham Youth in Policing and works as a Community Liaison for the Community Innovation Lab, Durham Region.

When Dr. Elkington is not working, he can be found playing tennis or running. He also loves to catch a game of rugby and reading issues of MacWorld.
