Description

David Sherrer is a nationally recognized Executive, Entrepreneur, Inventor, and Business Transformation Leader based out of Cocoa Beach, FL. David has over twenty years of experience in building businesses from the ground up, starting in 1996 with his first company: Haleos.

Haleos was a manufacturer of microfabricated optoelectronics components that David started after turning the remains of a burnt-down church into a state of the art manufacturing facility. As its President and CEO, David Sherrer invented the Silicon Optical Bench platform and allied with Newport for joint development of next-generation fiber optics and photonics manufacturing automation equipment.

In 2002, Haleos was acquired by Rohm and Haas (now Dow Chemical). After the company’s acquisition, David joined Rohm and Haas as their Director of Product Development and R&D. He was part of the strategy team that invented and developed SI-Pak (hermetic laser packages) and PolyStrata (microwave/mm wave packaging platform).

In 2008, David Sherrer founded his second company, Nuvotronics. The idea behind Nuvotronics formed after Haleos’ acquisition with the purpose of pursuing step-out growth. Once David bought back his business assets and IP (thanks to selling 50 of his patents of Samsung), he was able to make Nuvotronics a reality. Now a manufacturer of radar and wireless systems for defense and telecom organizations, he would focus on optimizing the technology he helped to invent while Haleos was under Rohm and Haas: Polystrata.

As the President and CEO of Nuvotronics, David designed multiple products using his technology and generated several contracts and awards from the space and defense industries. The company’s continued growth and expanding technology resulted in a portfolio of over 100 patents and an additional facility in North Carolina. In 2017, Nuvotronics was the first company in North Carolina and Virginia to achieve full AS9100D Certification.

After David Sherrer left Nuvotronics, he stayed on as a board member and consultant until Cubic Corporation acquired it in March 2019.

David’s work history has given him broad experience in growing businesses from the ground up and management experience in market analysis, invention and patents, patent analysis, product development, proposal writing, team building, key employee recruiting, manufacturing, venture capital, acquisitions, business planning, and product marketing.
