Adam Paulson of CA is a dedicated educational leader who is passionate about his students and school culture, as well as continuously improving the nation’s school systems. He has worked as a paraprofessional, history teacher, elementary school principal, and middle school assistant principal. Most recently, he served as the principal at Palo Alto High School in the Palo Alto Unified School District.
Adam Paulson attended the University of Colorado School of Arts and Sciences, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in History. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Education Administration from Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology in Los Angeles, CA.
Throughout Adam Paulson’s career as a school administrator, he has led numerous efforts to improve education for both students and teachers. For one school district, he created a transitional Kindergarten co-teaching model. He also created and maintained a grade-level Professional Learning Community structure to increase the school’s effectiveness in targeted academic areas.
Adam Paulson is currently pursuing his doctoral from San Francisco State University. His dissertation is titled “Comparing Blended and Traditional Face-to-Face Learning: A Mixed Methods Study on the Experiences of Historically Underrepresented High School Students.” He is very interested in blended learning and how it compares to traditional learning methods. The topic of blended learning is becoming more relevant with the recent health crisis, and Adam believes that it will play a significant role in the future of education.
Adam Paulson is also interested in the role of technology within the classroom and the role that technology plays in learning and teaching. In his various administrative positions, Adam has supported technical literacy for teachers and students. For example, during his time as the Assistant Principal at Palo Alto High School, he led the school’s Technology Team on projects, including the roll-out of a school-wide 1:1 Chrome book program, refining the 5-year technology plan, and increasing usage of Learning Management Systems.
Adam Paulson is also passionate about curriculum design, the organization of school systems, and school funding inequalities. His mission is to make a difference within our nation’s school systems and ensure that every student is served well every day.
