Description
Health care systems are expected to improve their performance through the support of information and communication technologies (e-health). Among the several applications of e-health, medical teleconsultation is of utmost importance in providing health care to isolated populations in remote areas with geographical and cultural barriers around and poor availability of experts in the field. The proceedings of a model of medical teleconsultation system is shown. It is a complex structure supporting the professionals of primary health care through strict rules and a network of teleconsultants and experts from all over the world while preserving the delicate balance among the different levels of care.
