Marla Smith - Life

As I sit and think~ ~ My mind is going down~ ~ This hill in life~ ~ I’m going down to fast~ ~ I’m trying to stop myself~ ~ From going to far in life~ ~ I’ve gotten myself too far as it is~ ~ People say I’m angry all the time~ ~ People say I’m going crazy~ ~ Because I killed someone~ ~ I hear my door open~ ~ They tell me it is time~ ~ I feel the coldness of the chains around my ankles~ ~ As I walk down this empty hall~ ~ To me it isn’t a empty hall~ ~ It is a hall of memories~ ~ When I am walking down this hall~ ~ As I enter this room I just wish I wouldn’t have done the things I have done~ ~ I feel the coldness beneath this jump suit~ ~ I watch and try to figure out what will happen next~ ~ I feel the tightness in the straps~ ~ I know it will only be a second before it is over~ ~ I feel the needle poke into my skin~ ~ Then I shut my eyes and slowly go to sleep~ ~ Before you realized what has happened~ ~ Your life has continued~ ~ Through the court dates~ ~ Through my numbered days until today~ ~ Today my life ended.
