Description

At twelve months he stands
With limbs like strands of rubber bands
That carry the brand new experience of balence.
Five more steps and the stairs showcase his talents
For climbing; a feat done with bare feet
And sleeves that shroud tiny hands. He completes
His ascension and lets loose a howl of delight
That thunders through the house and gives the dog a fright.
Then he's off on all fours like a freight train
Barreling through toys, and under chairs. Nothing restrains
The nuclear-like energy that drives his motion.
He tumbles accross the a door-way onto an ocean
Of carpet and plunges onward. He reaches the milk-bottle,
Recharges with a dozen swallows, and he's off again, full-throttle.
