Marilyn Shepperson - Shadows

The day was still overcast
I went outside to take a walk
Along the well known streets
That I've often walked before
I found my footseps strayed
Into the old church yard
And as I wandered all alone
Among the ancient gravestones
The sun came out once more
There was a shadow on the ground
And when I moved towards the church
I knew that it was mine
But then another shadow appeared
Upon that rough stone wall
Yet is was very clear
That shadow was not mine.
