'Mardaani' Rani

Actress Rani Mukerjee who plays a rough and tough role of a cop for the first time in her upcoming film 'Mardaani', which is based on child trafficking, talks with Entertainment Editor Janice Sequeira, about the women-oriented movie, her portrayal as a stong crime branch officer, shooting some particular scenes, about her performance, the action she has done, the challenges of life post-marriage, among other things. Director Pradeep Sarkar's film will see Rani as Shivani Shivaji Roy, an officer of the Mumbai Crime Branch unit. It is a serious drama which tells the story of a lady police officer who while working on the case of a kidnapped teenage girl, discovers the secrets of human trafficking by the India mafia. Produced by Rani's husband Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films (YRF) banner, 'Mardaani' is slated to release on August 22.
