Managing downward force

Kaminin Jain presses down on the paddle after the shaft is past vertical. This action will negate the downward pulling effect of the blade when it is at a 'negative' angle. She also pulls her top hand towards the body which helps to maintain a close to vertical position of hte shaft for longer.
