God,
At times I feel
You are playing
A practical joke
Just to poke
Fun at me.

Perhaps
To make me see
That I need to lighten up,
And just worry too much.
And abuse
Your gift of imagination
For no rhyme or reason.

Or to provoke
Me to think
Out of the box
And do some
Mental gymnastics
And break the status quo.

And then, slowly
I have a shift in perspective.
From passive to proactive.

Now I understand,
Why at times,
You need to give
Me a whack on my head.
