Description

I finally got my hands on a 5D Mark iii and couldn't wait to install Magic Lantern after seeing so much delicious footage.

This excercise was more about getting acclimated to work flow than it was about achieving perfection. There's a tiny bit of moire in the first clip; still working out kinks :)

Workflow:

1. ML Raw files to RAWMagic Lite (I initially started with MLRaw Viewer but felt the performance of it to be a bit clunky. That's just me, to each's own. RAWMagic Lite is extremely fast and has a clean, simple interface.)

2. Dump folders containing DNG files in Lightroom. Edit to taste.

TIP: Save the metadata instead to update files directly on disc instead of exporting files. You'll save a boatload of time here!

3. Bring updated files from Lightroom into After Effects and export to ProRes (or whatever you prefer)

4. Import ProRes files into Premiere Pro CC. Edit to taste.

Bravo to the guys over at Magic Lantern. Thank you guys so much for your hard work, unleashing the full potential of these awesome cameras from Canon.
