Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, released in 2008, is a computer-animated adventure comedy film and the follow-up to the 2005 movie Madagascar. Directed by Eric Darnell and Tom McGrath, the story follows the main characters from the Central Park Zoo – Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe, and Gloria the hippo – as they attempt to fly back to New York but end up crash-landing in Africa. In Africa, they encounter other animals of their kind and face new challenges in the wild
