Description
I thought it be so easy
Maybe if I could just squeeze me
Into the steady flow
Of norm
But how can I if I was born
Twenty-three moons
With no sun
And so I look in mirrors
Hoping to reflect the true me
Maybe I was truth all along
And now that this bird has finally sang his song
He’s done?
I please a pretty pallet of colors
Brighter
Shinier
Than before
Pharaoh’s gold
Salt sea blue
I am not I
But yet
I am the same me
I learned to live with no hope
And when you learn to cope
By the means of expecting no means
You tend to grow mean
And I just pray to God
That one day
I will soon see
Who is this person
Looking back at me
