His eyes shine like reflective tape
Blinding me from how ever changing brown they are
He speaks in low tones that make even whispers lean in to hear
His arms hold me tight like safty belts with a promise to keep me safe
His promises are of safty wanting to carry me out of the bad and into The new
We speak words that have yet to form a real meaning in the english Language
Words like I promise that arent followed by I'm here
I haven't seen him since that one time
Where we just smiled our goodbyes
Thinking of productivity
Bobble heads nob approval at texts sent in hush
At stop signs not stationary
At double seat driving
Where nightmares come before chirstmas
And I had a valentine to call my own starting with phone calls and Ending with silence
I watch feathers that won't fall
And breaths that were never held
Crossing out the word sorry from every dictionary I touch
Like covering the word can stop its use
Its used for false goodbyes
Its used for apologies not meant
Its used for promises not kept
Like erasing this word can erase those moments when I found the true Deffinition to be false
Sorry: when you regret and feel bad
I regret that they ever found out who you were
Like we could fast forward while still on pause missing the times Spent in small spaces where the gaps between us were too big
Where days are just moments that end where they start
And back handed books leave more of a mark
Hanging yellow tape where we don't want to cross
Whisper wars wage in my head on things like
Storm clouds are just senery wishing that stars were only blind
And where my dream catcher can't work as well as yours
Because when you're there I don't have bad dreams
