Depression is my religion
I lay my emotions at the altar
As I worship in my pain
What do I have to gain
Being baptized in the rain
Washing over my body, the temple
Wish it was so simple
To make it go away
To make a new day
The hymn of sorrow
Coming from deep in my soul
Not looking toward tomorrow
Singing my pain filled song
Searching for someplace to belong
Oh for that I long
Not living in my church of hurt
Wading through the dirt
Cloaked in failure
What’s the allure?
The fiery pit of hell
My heart is the church bell
Ding dong ding dong
My pain filled song.
