Leslie Alexis - The Gift
5 Views • Nov 10, 2014
Description
There lived a man who cared
And on an evening lime
He found a gift and shared
Shared the treasured gift
A water sweeter than wine
That gives the soul a lift
And fruit from every vine
And fruit from every vine
Who, the gift, received
But so many declined
That the sharer grieved
They who refused were poor,
Their reason he could not see…
Their own lack they did not know
Refusing riches given free
The treasured gift he had:
A water that matures to gold
And joy- you’re forever glad!
And this and all he told.
They refused because of pride:
Having not, and not seeing the need
They who within such ways abide
Suffers a greater curse than greed
The man from once upon a time
Continued to offer the gift
Sometimes pushy sometimes sublime
But in the offer always swift.
