Lauren B Called - The River
2 Views • Jun 16, 2014
Description
when snow kept people home for weeks
a fireplace in every room
travel by horse and carriage
the strong gentle man
clears the drive meticulously
the sight of him clears it's own path in her
like a river raging
he works long before the sun
tiring all limbs
doesn't know his own beauty
she wonders if his efforts are returned
a cold sight to passerbys
yet warmth to her
the way home surprisingly not far
for living in different worlds
in every room there is space
space enough for him
at meals always enough for one more
still no one is there for her to give
if it were days of old
he would have been her king
ruling with wisdom and kindness
all to him surrendering
