I don't think about nothing
anymore
won't give the time of day
even if that's all you're looking for

just when it's stored up again
it spills back on the floor
too much for too long
til my knees are sore

the past is gone
the future's dead
I'm here for now, no more

say hey how ya doing
you know the best I can
who could ask for more
from any man or woman

birds chirp at night
hide from the day
because the sun ignored

letting go is easier all at once
open both hands
don't keep a strand
you can still touch
