He looks deep inside her
tries to probe her heart
I wonder if he sees
he's been there from the start
he looks at her in ways
that no one else does
and the beauty he sees is justified
his reflection the cause

as she drifts to sleep
visions hold her soul
outward realizations creep
scaring because she knows
this is like no other
innumerable precious things
so much about him
prevents her from turning
just one more finale
where the hardest goodbyes
never happen
and impossibilities
are only a bad dream
