Killer Dr Ubani confronted

June 2010. Daniel Ubani was confronted by Stuart and Rory Gray as he plugged his cosmetic surgery clinic. It was only a day after he had been struck off over the death of 70-year-old David Gray in 2008. A minute into Dr Ubani's speech, Stuart Gray, 50, himself a GP, stood up and asked: 'Why are you speaking here as if you were a competent doctor? Because you are not, Dr Ubani. You were struck off the register of the General Medical Council in Britain only on Friday. The shocking case highlighted how foreign doctors brought in to cover staff shortages in the NHS can evade punishment if tragedy strikes, and Nigerian-born Dr Ubani, 67, has not attended any hearings here regarding Mr Gray's death. An investigation by British police had to be dropped because he had already admitted the relatively minor charge of death by negligence at a German court - escaping with just a nine-month suspended sentence and £4,370 fine.
