ABC Cinema Westover Bournemouth

BOURNEMOUTH film-goers will say goodbye tonight to Britain’s last ABC cinema. The venue, opened in 1937 as the Westover Super Cinema, will close after a charity screening of the time-travel hit Back to the Future. The Odeon chain, which owns both the town’s Westover Road cinemas, is to move into a new multiplex at the BH2 leisure development off the Square next month. Bournemouth’s existing Odeon will remain open until the move. Both the ABC and Odeon cinemas have been sold to property developer Libra Homes.
