Katie Doty - Oh How

Oh how comical my life must be,
A story of retrogression.
To climb out of fear, ladder breaking,
Then fall into depression.

Oh how one can meet thy soul,
Once over, then over again,
When a life is in the balance,
As if in a lion’s den.

Oh how a Hypophreniac,
Without a reason to gloat,
Now has a worse reason,
To slit thy own throat.

Oh how life can demonstrate,
A concept so easily perceived,
About how one is powerless,
And with faith, can be deceived.

Oh how such an undeserving one,
Can be cable of murdering thyself,
With harsh words of false hope,
With your mind tucked on a shelf.

Oh how the universe can say,
“You’re safe” and break your shell,
Then like a demonic beast,
Tear you back down to hell.

Oh how life can control thyself,
And hold you under repression.
Oh how comical my life must be,
A story of retrogression.
