John Adams: Common Tones in Simple Time (1979)

John Coolidge Adams (b. 1947) is one of the main composers in America today. Heavy influenced by Steve Reich’s minimalism, he eventually developed a neoromantic vein that keeps its initial minimalistic appeal. One of the very first works Adams composed for orchestra is Common Tones in Simple Time which is quite descriptive of the musical actions.

Muy influenciado por el minimalismo de Steve Reich, eventualmente desarrolló una vena neoromántica que mantiene su atractivo minimalista. Una de sus primeras obras para orquesta es Common Tones in Simple time, la cual es descriptiva de sus modulaciones sencillas.
