Joseph Wawatie confronts colonialism in two of its forms: the police forces (supporting the clear-cutting of sacred forests) and the greedy corporation annihilating all forms of life that reside in the Boreal Forest. Josep Wawatie is a traditional Elder not moving an inch even as the caterpillar throttles on. His action reflects all of what our ancestors and our future generations are all about.
