In Northern Europe, Aquavit (Aqvavit) reigns supreme. Caraway typically dominates a flavor profile that is supported by other spices like cardamom, cumin, anise, fennel, and lemon or orange peel. As a foil for for rich foods, it is no wonder that it pairs perfectly with a classic cow's milk cheese like Jarlsberg. It also makes for a delicious cocktail!
