JAMES T. ADAIR - Today
0 Views • Jun 16, 2014
Description
I can feel the rain
Inside suddenly pain
and sadness hits me at the same
I'm going through my daughters's things
Putting them through boxes of white
suddenly I feel so lost in memories
My tears fall and scatter the light
I find the owners manual for her purple Murray bike
and remember assembling it that long ago night
The night before one Cristmas past
I didn't know then, time goes by so fast
I found a diary she had written
and notes about her life
out from it fell an old photo of my grandmother
sitting in a lawn chair near my then young wife
And that's when the tears fell
from somewhere deep inside
and for the sudden memory of the past
I knelt, surrounded by memories and cried
