JAMES T. ADAIR - A Single Tear
7 Views • Nov 08, 2014
Description
frozen in time
poised to fall
Captured emotion, is all
Was it a tear of lost romance
Was it a tear of love that never had a chance
Was it a tear of past hurt that would not leave
or was it a tear shed for someone for whom you grieve
I see the tear
and its so clear
that inside you're hurting so
and I ask because I care to know
And when I ask you always say It's OK
and I'm to think all is fine
But sometimes I hear your reply
and in it I feel how hard you try
I love you in my own way
the only way I know
I wonder about you since we fist met
Does it show?
When I think of a tear ready to fall
and drip down the face I admire
and feel inside my heart
I wish I could kiss it before it had a chance to start
and whether we stop or ever start
You're in my heart
as real as the reflection
cast by the mirror in your direction
I look into the mirror myself sometimes
and see a face I hardly know
I see the wear and tear of lonliness
and sadess too does show
I've got a heart for you
and all it has for you is care
Though I realize life is not always fair
There remains a hope that love, we're somehow meant to share
